Joy In God’s Presence: TBR: April 9: Lev 13; Psalms 15-16
In Psalm 16 we read of the joy that we can find in God alone. God is our refuge and it is in Him that we can delight (v. 1). Not in delighting that we know about God but that we actually know Him. That we love Him and walk with Him. Those who do not know God, and follow some other god (whatever that may be) will be disappointed (v. 4). They will be let down, dismayed, and sorrow. But not so for the one who finds joy in God alone. Peter quotes Psalm 16:11 as referring to the resurrection of Jesus (Acts 2:25-28). It is in Him that we find hope and the only way to God and to know God. If Jesus ascends and sits at the right hand of the Father and finds fullness of joy joy in His presence, how much more should we see the “things of this earth grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace.” May the Lord be with you today.
