More than Just About You: TBR: April 11: Lev 15; Psalm 18
In Psalm 18 we read of David’s praise to the Lord being his rock, fortress, strength, and deliverer. This is a Psalm in which the praise of the King is given to the Lord on behalf of himself and also for all the people - a royal Psalm. It recounts how God has and will faithfully uphold his anointed King and His people and will protect them from their enemies. In other words, God is always there and always faithful for His people. But its more than just about the people. Remember it’s about God and what God is doing. The faithfulness of God was not to be kept silent. It was to be declared for others to hear and come to know the One true faithful God. Paul quotes v. 49 in Rom 15:9 “For this I will praise you, O LORD, among the nations, and sing to your name.” God’s faithfulness to David’s line finds its fulfillment in Christ and it is in Christ that the hope of the nations rests. We are to declare the faithfulness of God in Christ so that others may know the true God as well and be glad. May the Lord be with you today.
